Well, it seems like we've been away on vacation or something - but hardly! So sorry for the lack in posting - we've had a trying two weeks with Reed. All I can say is that I have never before been able to actually "feel" that we were being prayed for - but last Thursday and Saturday, wow, they were amazing days. So, THANK YOU to all of you that have been lifting us up in prayer because we are finally now in the "normal" spit up range!!! To make a long story short - after Reed losing weight and having the doctor become very concerned, we have switched Reed to the champagne formula - Nutramigen.
The nurses and doctors, from the get go three months ago, assured me that Reed's symptoms were not consistent with any type of milk allergy and that changing formulas wouldn't work... well, not so. He is still spitting up - but it is NOT painful and it does not sail across the room on a consistent basis. Praise God! :-) I think his little belly is totally irritated, so we're concentrating on being easy on his stomach until all the irritation is healed. What an ordeal! So, here is a picture of our happy 7-month old, Reed :-).
Riley and Jason have had some pretty fun projects that they've worked on since it has been such awesome weather here! This is a picture of them working so hard on Riley's window. It had some structural damage that Jason fixed and they had to paint the finished product. Riley did a lot of the painting and he did really well! Yes, that is Jason balancing on a ladder up to the second story of our house :-).
This was after a long day of work - lounging on the couch - I just LOVE this picture of the two of them!
This is a picture of Riley posing - literally, i asked him to pose and this is what he came up with. Is that a Jason look or what?
And finally, this is a picture of us yesterday - we were running around our cul-de-sac with our masks on - it was cracking me up! This was the day that we also ran around Lexington trying to find a place that had the Nutramigen in stock (oh, and if any of you all know any nurses that work in pediatricians offices, it would be nice to have a few free samples of this stuff - it's crazy expensive!!!) and Riley had on his pirate costume. We got so many "oh, look at him" looks. So funny!
p.s. don't you love that sweet look reed is giving riley? :-)
